I pledge the allegiance to the flag, for which it stands, one nation, under guns….

STATISTICS TELL THE TRUTH

Statistics tell the truth in 2020, 45,222 people died from gun-related injuries. Every day in the U.S. 321 Americans are shot with a gun,  124 are shot and killed while 210 victims survive. There have been over 600 mass shootings predominantly more of those 600 happened in the last seven years. The Investigative Assistance for Violent Crimes Act, 2012, states that three or more killings in a single incident are to be considered a mass shooting.

The Gun Violence Archive states four or more killings in a single incident are considered a mass shooting. In 2020 gun-related death statistics state, that 54% of suicides, 24,292 of these deaths were suicide, 43% were murdered, 19,385 people in US lives were taken, 535 unintentional, 611 involved law enforcement, and 400 were undetermined circumstances. Statistics are the very reason we need to see reforms.

Those forging THE PATH TO GUN reform

Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer pledged Wednesday to renew his attempts to pass stricter U.S. gun-control laws. Of course, Republicans will block these attempts at any firearm regulations. Schumer also stated Senate will on Thursday review a gun-control bill that cleared the House earlier in May, days after a separate mass shooting in Buffalo, New York.  cnbc.com

Schumer, the chamber’s top Democrat, implored his Republican colleagues to resist the influence of the National Rifle Association, a powerful pro-gun lobbying group, and join Democrats to discuss what measures Congress could pass to reduce mass shootings.

“Please, please, please, damn it, put yourself in the shoes of these parents for once,” State Senator Schumer. Maybe that thought — putting yourself in the shoes of these parents instead of the arms of the NRA — might let you wriggle free from the vise-like grip of the NRA,” Schumer added, “might free you to act on even a simple measure.” “Schumer says Democrats want to craft gun reforms with GOP after Texas Massacrecnbc.com

Democrats have blamed the NRA, a membership that is million strong for significant financing for changing Republicans’ minds against gun reform. The NRA has notoriously been known for funding Republican campaigns with huge donations coursing their thoughts or beliefs that the U.S. is in desperate need of stricter gun laws across all 50 states.

Representative Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland. The No. 2 House Democrat said on a Twitter post, “that he will bring a bill to the chamber floor in the first week of June to create a national “red flag” law.”

This law allows police or family members to petition courts to order a temporary firearm removal from a person or suspect of posing danger to themselves or the public. “Schumer says Democrats want to craft gun reforms with GOP after Texas Massacrecnbc.com

However, should we ask the parents of Sandyhook elementary school if this is enough? The defiant survivors of Howard Douglas who created “March for our Lives”. Every victim was a person, with a name, who had dreams and hopes. Every victim left a family shattered with a lifetime of pain, and deep grief to have a beloved taken from them in such a ghastly manner.

I find it appalling that republicans and the NRA think they are above the lives of those victims. The shame lawmakers carry is beyond my cries as a parent to stop these atrocities once and for all.

The truth is this, it is simple, The NRA is blocking every gun reform from happening by using Republicans as their puppets. We have allowed an organization to operate freely and above the law and the United state Constitution. “We the People” the constitution states that the power rest relies upon the people, Americans. We have the power to limit government, separation of powers, and popular sovereignty. We do have the right to limit those powers of the NRA. In a court of law, we the people have the right to limit the amount of power a governing body has and since the NRA has therefore thrust their organization greatly based on politics and politicians, in the end, “We the People”  have the right to Ratify the second Amendment to fit the constitutional laws of present-day society matching modern weaponry and not those from the 18 century.

Let us take a look at the Second Amendment

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a state, the tight of the people to keep the bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

The second Ammandemendment is the main reason Americans are looking down the barrel of a gun. And with no help from our elected governing body to protect innocent Americans from being hunted and slaughtered by the next mass shooter.

The second amendment is one of the 10 amendments to the US constitution collectively called the bill of rights originally written to protect Americans from a tyrannical rule in 1791, which was Britain, and tax levies which neither exist and have not since the American Revolutionary War. Which freed us from that rule over two centuries ago.

Historical Perspective

This was to provide individual Americans with potentially dangerous central and state governments. Many Americans feared the power of a centralized government and military, which stemmed mostly from laws the British imposed in the lead-up to the American Revolution, including the levying taxes that were deemed too high and depriving some colonists of the right to bear arms.

A “well-regulated Militia”

Legal scholars have debated the Founding Fathers’ intentions with respect to the Second Amendment. The intentions were for “well-regulated” forces authorized by state governments to have access to weapons, and not for all individuals to be able to bear arms. This Bill is in dire need to be ratified, our very lives depend on it.

I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A MOMENT TO REMEMBER THOSE WHO HAVE LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES, THE SACRIFICE THEY MADE WITH THEIR OWN BELOVED LIVES FOR ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE NRA CAN SO UNAPOLOGETICALLY SAY, OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU OR IT PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS, NO ONE CARES. KEEP YOUR PRAYERS BUT MAY YOUR THOUGHTS HAUNT YOU FOR ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIVES FOR THESE CHILDREN, WHO HAVE NAMES, HAD DREAMS, AND HOPES, AND FAMILIES FOREVER SHATTERS FOR YOUR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.
